SEASIDE FOODS

Seaside Foods, located at Hearst Ranch Winery on the stunning shores of San Simeon Cove, is a restaurant that pairs artisanal platters with Hearst Ranch wines. To reflect the unique blend of rustic charm and coastal elegance that defines the restaurant, I created a complete branding and illustration suite that highlights its connection to the surrounding landscape and its handcrafted approach to food and wine.

For the illustration work, I focused on capturing the natural beauty and distinctive character of San Simeon Cove, the winery, and the restaurant itself. Using a rustic, sketch-like style, the illustrations convey an authentic and approachable feel that aligns with the handmade quality of Seaside Foods' offerings. These visuals were carefully designed to create an emotional connection, giving diners a sense of place and heritage that enhances their experience from the moment they encounter the brand.

BRANDING & ILLUSTRATION

The branding design builds on this foundation with a clean and contemporary approach. A dark blue, black, and white color palette was chosen to evoke the depth of the ocean and the timeless sophistication of Hearst Ranch wines. Modern sans serif typefaces add a sleek, professional look to the brand, ensuring its appeal to a diverse audience while maintaining a refined and cohesive aesthetic. The centerpiece of the branding is a hand-drawn logo that reinforces the rustic, artisan feel of the restaurant, connecting all design elements to its countryside roots.

This project integrates graphic design with storytelling, creating a visual identity that mirrors the essence of Seaside Foods. Every design choice—from the organic, sketch-like illustrations to the clean, modern typography and color palette—was made to communicate the restaurant’s values and setting. The result is a cohesive brand that not only stands out but also resonates with its audience, enhancing the overall dining experience at this one-of-a-kind location.
